Welcome to the 8th Annual Putt From The Ruff!

Celebrating our 8th year of Putt Putt fun, Putt from the Ruff has raised roughly $60,000+ to date that has been spread amongst the National Canine Cancer Foundation as well as multiple Indianapolis area animal welfare organizations. Our event started after Braxtyn, a large and sweet Golden Retriever fought a very short battle with a terribly aggressive form of cancer. It was his families first experience with this beast and has not, unfortunately, been their last. However, they continue to fight in his-and so many other furbabies-names. Our goal is to bring awareness to canine cancer as well as educate the world that there are so many similarities between human and canine cancer and that, while we are doing this in our furkids names, any discoveries and cures/treatments could very well affect the human population as well!

The day of fun begins in the Indianapolis, Indiana neighborhood of Broad Ripple. The Village of Broad Ripple is a conglomeration of bars, shops and good people-many of which are locally owned! Our 12 participating bars create their own Putt Putt hole for the big event. Some are dog themed, some aren't-they have all the freedom they want as long as the ball can get in to the hole. Teams of 4-6 people wind their way thru the village throughout the day completing the course. Due to the nature of the event, ALL team members MUST be 21 years of age.

Volunteers are located at each hole and may have some form of activity planned in order help lower scores-it's the decision of each volunteer team but it certainly adds to the fun of the event! We have the best volunteers in Indy, paws down!

Team of 4 is $120 prior to September 8th. $30 for each additional team member. Maximum on a team is 6. After September 8th, it's $160 for a team of 4; $40 for each additional team member up to a team of 6.

Silent Auction

Would your company like to donate to our silent auction? We're looking for donations from all types of businesses to include in our silent auction. Our silent auction makes us far more money than registration, therefore, the more items we have, the more we are able to donate. We are 100% volunteer run so no one is paid for any of their time or effort-every cent made (minus expenses) is donated. Our goal to donate this year is $15,000. Half of that money goes to the National Canine Cancer Foundation. The other half is split between Indianapolis area animal welfare organizations and rescues. The Silent Auction will take place at The Vogue.

Many of the bars along the course allow rescues to establish a presence at their bar. Many are outdoors and allow for 2-3 dogs to join them for the day! NO ADOPTIONS ARE ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE THE DAY OF PUTT. We want to make sure that any individual who might find their forever friend at Putt is in the proper frame of mind to make that decision. We want any adoption that occurs to be for life so we do ask that the rescues wait until Sunday morning to approve any adoptions that occur due to Putt. There is NO FEE for rescues to attend (we aren’t in the business of taking money from rescues – our goal is to give them every opportunity we can to succeed! WOOF!), though we do have a list of those who have attended in the past and they do have first right of refusal to attend. Some bars who did not allow rescues in prior years may decide to and, in addition, we have a couple new bars participating this year in place of others. We are not sure who that is yet, but there likely will be a spot there for a rescue-even if they are not able to bring dogs, they can spread their mission and share their hearts with the participants. Want to volunteer? We can always use volunteers for the day of the event. We can accommodate shifts or you can volunteer for the full day (11:30-5:30). We provide lunch (if your shift is over the lunch hour) and a t-shirt to all volunteers. As well as full discretion to have as much fun with participants as your imagination will allow (and is safe and legal).
